Pirates P Donnelly lands on DL

05/04/2010 - Pittsburgh, PA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday placed pitcher Brendan Donnelly on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain.

In 11 relief appearances this season, Donnelly had a 2-0 record with a 7.00 ERA. The move is retroactive to April 28.

To fill Donnelly's roster spot, the Pirates recalled first baseman/outfielder Steve Pearce from Triple-A Indianapolis. Pearce hit .349 with eight RBI and two home runs in 23 games for Indianapolis this year.
