NCAA Basketball Betting Lines

11/23/2007 - Anchorage, AK (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - In the semifinal round of the Great Alaska Shootout, the 14th-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs will clash with the Texas Tech Red Raiders this evening at the Sullivan Arena. The winner of this contest with move on to face either Butler or Virginia Tech in the championship match.

The Red Raiders had no trouble in their first round matchup, as the team disposed of the Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves, 74-47. It was the third win of the season for Texas Tech, which has also defeated Stephen F. Austin (60-44) and UC Riverside (68-56). As for the Bulldogs, they remained perfect on the season, after defeating Western Kentucky in the first round, 74-71. The team's other three victories came on their home floor, as the squad defeated Montana, Idaho and UC Riverside before heading to Alaska.

The Zags are making their second appearance in this event. The last time the team participated, it suffered a 72-63 loss to Marquette in the title game.

This will be the second all-time meeting between Gonzaga and the Red Raiders on the hardwood. The only other matchup occurred back in March of 2005, as Texas Tech pulled off a narrow 71-69 victory.

The Red Raiders continued to flex their defensive muscle last night, as the team held Alaska to a meager 47 points. Texas Tech limited the Seawolves to 32.7 percent shooting, which included a 6-of-26 showing from the long range. The team also forced Alaska into 19 turnovers in the contest. Heading into the game, the Red Raiders were doing a tremendous job defensively, surrendering only 52.0 ppg, while holding the opposition to just 39.7 percent shooting from the field. Offensively against Alaska, the Red Raiders were paced by John Roberson, who scored 22 points. It was a surprising performance for Roberson, especially since he was averaging only 7.7 ppg in the first three games of the season. In a harsh role reversal, Martin Zeno, who came into the matchup leading the squad with 19.3 ppg, tallied just nine points in the win.

Heading into their first round matchup the Zags were averaging an impressive 80.3 ppg, while shooting a sizzling 54.0 percent from the field. The team has surprisingly struggled from long range, netting just 26.5 percent of its attempts, however the Bulldogs have done an excellent job on the glass, winning the rebound battle by 12.3 rpg. In the victory over Western Kentucky, the Zags shot 47.4 percent from the field, but went just 2-of-12 from long range and just 18-of-28 from the foul line, making things closer than they had to be. Fortunately, the team was able to continue its success on the boards, outrebounding Western Kentucky, 43-30. Matt Bouldin, who entered this matchup averaging just 10.3 ppg, paced the Bulldogs with 18 points in the win. Micah Downs added 14 points, while Jeremy Pargo and Austin Daye contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Super Bowl XLIII Betting - Super Bowl 2009

Super Bowl 2009, the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Let’s take a look at the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds and the betting line and figure out where they’ve been and where they are going to go.

MySportsbook.com put up the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds late on Sunday night with the Pittsburgh Steelers favored by 6.5 points and a total betting line at 47.5 points.

Since then, however, the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds have seen a good deal of movement and you’ll want to be on top of where they are likely to move to make sure you get the best line value for the big game.

Since opening, the Super Bowl 2009 betting lines went to Steelers -7 in the span of roughly 3 hours but were quickly bought back down just minutes later to 6.5 again.

After that is took about 5-6 more hours before the betting line went back to -7 where it has sat for a while now and is likely to remain. The opening betting total of 47.5 was bet down right after the line became available and went to 47 within minutes.

Roughly a day later it has been bet even further down to the 46.5 tally it currently is set at.

Roughly 60% of gamblers seem to be on the Cardinals here so the point spread will be bet down and a 7.5 would not last very long at all with many taking the early 6.5 in hopes of finding a potential middle in the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds.

If you like Arizona and see a 7.5, I’d take it as soon as possible because it’s unlikely to last. For Pittsburgh backers, the -7 might be the best you’ll be able to find but a 6.5 is definitely possible close to game time.

Regarding the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds for the total, most tracked gamblers are already on the over and with those who took the under 47.5 already securing a middle on the over 46.5, the only way I see it moving is back up to 47 so if you like the over, I’d recommend betting now.
